God
Of the holy silence
Who surrounds all that is alive and dead
A moment arrives
When we feel blessed beyond knowing
After all the loneliness
After all the hurt and pain
After all the mistakes and failures
After the betrayals and disappointments
After all that has crushed us and left us to wonder
A moment arrives
When we realize we have survived
And been supported by friends and by your mysterious Presence
That we have been given what we have needed
That we have been placed where we needed to be
That what has happened is what we needed to learn
That our plates are fuller than we had remembered
We easily count what we do not have
We easily seek to be somewhere else
We easily want to be what we are not
But a moment of clarity arrives
When we know we are in the right place and the right time
That we are who we are to be
That we are with whom is to be with us
And we feel thankful
As we close our eyes and pray
Feeling blessed, peaceful…..loved.
All in the most sacred and holy.
